Weather & Climate
26 – 27 (°C)
Good weather in the Caribbean is practically guaranteed, and the temperature here is almost perfect all year round. There’s a bit more rain from the start of summer through to the middle of winter, but don’t let that put you off! Any rain that does fall is usually a brief shower that’s quickly replaced by calm, sunny weather. Come in spring for the driest weather and up to 10 hours of sunshine a day.
Because this is an island, it rarely gets too hot, even in the summer, and the sea is warm enough for paddling and swimming all year round. If you’re spending lots of time outdoors during your holiday to Barbados don’t forget to slap on the sun cream regularly to protect your skin. The island can occasionally experience tropical storms or hurricanes, although these are extremely rare before July or after October.

By taxi: Taxis are widely available and are easy to spot, as they have the letter ‘Z’ on their number plates. Just make sure you always agree the fare before you set off.
By hire car: A wide range of car hire options are also available for your holiday. This can be a convenient way to get around, although it’s by no means essential, thanks to this island’s good public transport network.
